Obituary from the Bangor Daily News:
ORONO - Lt. Col. Robert B. Virtue, USAF Ret., 62, died Jan. 8, 2001, at
a Bangor hospital following a long period of declining health. He was born
May 22, 1938, in Moscow, Idaho, the son of Charles and Mildred (Brooks)
Virtue. He attended Bowdoin College and was a graduate of University of
Nebraska - Omaha and also Husson College, Bangor. Robert was a career officer
in the Strategic Air Command 1959-1981, serving as navigator, pilot and
staff officer, also serving a tour in Vietnam. He was a member of St. James
Episcopal Church, Old Town, U.S. Power Squadrons-Penobscot Bay Branch,
the American Legion, and Retired Officers Association. He had a strong
and lively interest and participation in Orono town government. Surviving
are his daughters, Cynthia Virtue-Stracke
and Karen Virtue,
and his friend and former wife, Dee (Harlow) Virtue. Services
will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at St.
James Episcopal Church, Old Town. Spring interment will be in Riverside
Cemetery, Orono. Gifts in his memory may be sent to St. James Episcopal

Drive, Orono 04473.
